Upper School Science

Cincinnati Country Day School’s Upper School Science department is seeking applicants for a single section of high school science. Chemistry is preferred, but teaching adjustments can be made to accommodate a strong physics or biology candidate. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. Experience is preferred. Job Description

General Description

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Coordinator of Special Events and Development Assistant will oversee both large and small-scale events throughout the year, provide daily support for the Development Office, and provide administrative support for the Director of Development, all while engaging with donors daily.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the annual auction, CountryDate, including:
      • Recruiting and managing volunteers
      • Overall development of the event itself
      • Solicit for gifts, sponsorships, and donations
      • Create and maintain CountryDate financial summary and database reports
  • Responsible for directing/assisting with additional Development events
  • Work with the Director of Development to generate yearly stewardship reports and reporting for endowed funds
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Parents’ Association, providing administrative support and ensure coordination and collaboration with the Development office goals and priorities
  • Daily outgoing mail delivery/pickup incoming mail from mail room
  • Administrative support for Development Department regarding:
      • Mailings
      • Maintaining donor files
      • Create purchase orders
      • Order office supplies
  • Administrative support for Director of Development
      • Credit card receipts and monthly statements
      • Calendar maintenance
      • Database donor tracking
  • Support Director of Database Management
  • Assist with wealth screenings on an as-needed basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred

Groundskeeper

JOB SUMMARY: Maintains grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment.

Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, snow removal and traffic duty.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

  • Responsible for daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash.
  • Mowing and trimming of turf and brush.
  • Removal of snow and the spreading of salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by CCDS.
  • Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding CCDS property.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times.
  • Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and CCDS safety policies at all times.
  • Responsible for following the CCDS Faculty and Staff Handbook.
  • Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with the appropriate attention to detail and sense of urgency. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and basic numbers. Ability to speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The middle school athletic department is always seeking individuals interested in coaching middle school athletic teams. The middle school program offers multiple choices for 7th and 8th grade students in Fall, Winter, and Spring. Candidates should be self-motivated, knowledgeable of their sport, organized and have the ability to lead and foster love of sports in middle school athletes. Coaches will be responsible for planning daily practices, proctoring game day study halls, coaching at all matches/games, working with co-coaches, and communicating regularly with parents and athletic director. Sport Teams:

Fall: Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Golf, and Girls Tennis
