Alyssa Bardach '12 is one of five senior finalists for the Simon Lazarus Jr. Human Relations Award of the Cincinnati chapter of the American Jewish Committee. She will be honored at a dinner this week at Rockdale Temple. Forty-three area high schools nominated students for the award, which recognizes students of all faiths who have done exceptional good works. Alyssa and fellow Country Day seniors Emily Ashwell and Haleigh Miller created "Three Girls Serving Three Cups of Tea," which has raised more than $10,000 towards the cost of building a school for girls in Afghanistan. Alyssa has also served as treasurer and vice-president of her chapter of the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, and as regional vice-president most recently. She organized local and regional conventions and won the Vice-President of the Year award. Alyssa will attend Indiana University in the fall.
