Athletes Compete this Weekend

This holiday weekend, several Country Day athletes will be competing in their respective sports.

1. On Friday and Saturday, Alec Bunge, Hanna Gottschalk, Isabelle Hudson, Jo Jeelani, Celia Macrae, and Abby McInturf compete in the 2012 SRAA National Championship Regatta on the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey.
2. On Friday at 9:00 a.m., Asher Hirsch and Patrick Wildman begin singles play in the 2012 OHSAA State Tennis Tournament. The matches are being played at the Stickney Tennis Center at Ohio State University. To advance to the semifinals, players need to win two matches. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
3. On Sunday at 9 a.m., the boys tennis team will compete in the OTCA State Team Tournament at Hilliard Davidson High School. The tennis team advances to the state tournament for the first time in school history. Team members are Asher Hirsch, Patrick Wildman, Michael Barton, Leonard Behrens, Will Cohen, Chase Tholke, Ani Kosaraju, Shashank Jejurikar, and Amar Mehta.
4. On Friday evening, the boys and girls track teams have multiple runners competing in the regional finals at Troy High School. The top four finishers in each event advance to the OHSAA state track meet next weekend. Competing in the regional finals are: Erika Armstead, Shelley Menifee, Sydney Menifee, Paige Bennett, Dorian Bell, Kaitlin Harden, Sadie Linder, Kyle Kistinger, Brian Burnett, DeVere Highsmith, Jonas Luebbers, Jordan Patterson, Trent Babb, Robert Settles, and Edwin Sam.
