Position
Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking a part-time Health Aide/Paraprofessional, starting immediately through May 2021 and for the 2021-2022 school year to help promote a healthy school environment and support the school’s health and safety plans across its three divisions. This position would be for the academic year only (August-May) and is part-time, Monday through Friday, from 10am-2pm.
Responsibilities
· Assist with providing first-aid care for students/staff in the clinic
· Help determine immunization compliance according to the Ohio Department of Health guidelines and the Ohio Revised Code
· Maintain and review compliance of student health care records and medical forms
· Keep accurate daily records of illness, injury, procedures, and medication given as mandated by the State of Ohio
· Execute school health procedures and policies
· Maintain and administer student medications as prescribed by the physician and as delegated by the school nurse according to school policy and state and federal guidelines.
· Assist with age-appropriate, required health screenings
· Oversee the proper stocking and inventory of nursing supplies under direction of the school nurse
· Protect confidential health information as it pertains to HIPAA and FERPA requirements
· Perform other duties as assigned under the direction of the School Nurse
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED
· Good written and verbal communication skills with sensitivity to needs of students
· Experience in a school, pediatric or medical setting preferred
· CPR and AED certification
· Knowledge of school health programs and proficiency in computer operation, including various software applications preferred
· Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making
· Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents
· Strong organizational and planning skills
· Compassionate and loving attitude toward children
· Applicants will need to get a Pupil Monitor License from ODE
