Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking applicants for a full-time position teaching math to begin August 2026. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, student-centered educator whose passion and expertise as a lifelong learner is modeled as a way to inspire and engage students. The CCDS math curriculum is focused on helping students to:

• Develop a deep mathematical understanding of why mathematical ideas work and how they connect across topics such as algebra, geometry, functions, and modeling.
• Cultivate reasoning, sense-making, and the ability to justify solutions.
• Build procedural fluency and apply mathematics to real-world situations.
• Master the six major conceptual areas of math (number & quantity, algebra, functions, modeling, geometry, and statistics & probability) to prepare students for college mathematics, technical fields, and informed citizenship.
   

Qualifications:

• BS in math or related field, with an advanced degree preferred
• Besides helping the school and department meet its mission, the candidate should also have enthusiasm for teaching, experience with high school age students, and a willingness to explore new methodologies and technologies for instruction
• Computer literacy and proficiency, experience with technology in the classroom, and ability to effectively utilize a learning management system
   

Teaching Expectations:
The teacher will join a congenial and collegial department consisting of five faculty members while being supervised and supported by the math department chair and the head of upper School. Specific responsibilities for this position include:

• Teaching four sections of math based on enrollment and the teaching needs of the department.
• Providing academic support for students outside of class time during office hours.
• Collaborating and participating actively in the work of the math department on best practices in curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment.
• Actively participating in the life of the school community.
• Commits to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of innovative, research-informed teaching practices.
   

Community Expectations:

• Contribute as an engaged, collaborative community member both within and across departments
• Serve as an advisor to approximately 10 students
• Serve on ad hoc committees, as needed
• Participate in community events including but not limited to several evening or weekend events
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Candidates should have experience teaching chemistry and a willingness/ability to teach in another discipline, such as environmental science or physics. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, student-centered educator whose passion and expertise as a lifelong learner is modeled as a way to inspire and engage students.

The CCDS science curriculum is focused on helping students to:

• Develop skills in observation, interpretation, reasoning, synthesis, generalizing, predicting, and questioning as a way to learn new knowledge, while critically evaluating the validity of results and sources of error;
• Collaboratively construct and defend logically coherent explanations of phenomena that incorporate a current understanding of science consistent with the available evidence;
• Develop scientific problem-solving skills, including organization of available information, identification and application of pertinent principles, quantitative solutions, and interpreting results in the context of current issues and discussions around those issues;
• Use developing science and technology skills in constructive community engagement that addresses the potential impact on local and global issues, including equality, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.

A regular laboratory period is part of each course, providing students with direct, hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and associated technology. All students are required to take biology and two additional science courses, including a physical science and an advanced science. Currently, the department offers a number of AP courses and electives, and it is common for students to take four years of science, with some students opting to enroll in two science courses in their junior and/or senior years.

Coaching Requirements:

• All coaches must possess a Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) through Ohio Department of Education. CCDS will reimburse costs of obtaining certificate and Coaches Toolchest with required courses (will be completed after hire).
• Background/Fingerprint Check (every five years after hire and any time requested by CCDS)

Athletics is required for 7th and 8th graders at CCDS therefore practices are during the school day. Practices are 2:30-3:20 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and 2:00-3:20 p.m. on Thursdays. Games and matches are after school or on weekends. 

Coaches who can coach multiple seasons at CCDS are welcomed and encouraged.

Position 
Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking an experienced Montessori-trained collaborative teacher to work with children in our Montessori program beginning in August 2026. Strong candidates will be professional, energetic, dedicated, and Montessori trained. The Montessori collaborative teacher works alongside assisting the lead teachers in the classroom to enhance student learning and ensure that grade-level expectations are met. This assistant role involves actively collaborating with the teaching team to monitor student progress, provide individualized support, and facilitate individual, small group, and whole class instruction with the Montessori approach. The position focuses on meeting the unique needs of each student through thoughtful Montessori strategies and close collaboration with the grade-level team to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Uphold and actively support the school’s mission, character virtues, and code of conduct
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and personnel information
• Foster a safe, positive, and well-managed learning environment in accordance with school policies and pre-school licensing requirements
• Provide consistent supervision to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students
• Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Implement lesson plans effectively, maintaining the integrity of instructional time and engaging students in learning
• Collaborate closely with lead teachers within the classroom
• Be prepared to lead instruction in the absence of the lead teacher
• Communicate student progress, observations, and instructional updates with lead teachers, support services, and division leadership as needed
• Maintain open and professional communication with the teaching team
• Support students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
• Follow oral and written directions and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff
• Support other duties as assigned by the director of pre-primary or head of lower school

Qualifications 
Competitive candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree, relevant Montessori training, and some experience teaching/working with children.
