Celebrating Our Student-Athletes Signing to Play a Collegiate Sport

On February’s National Signing Day, Cincinnati Country Day School proudly celebrated four exceptional student-athletes: Ethan Argus, Ryan Coyle, Teagan Davis, and Kenzie Zimmers, who committed to playing a sport at the college level.

Ethan Argus will take his golf talents to Kenyon College. As co-team captain, Ethan broke multiple school and conference records. His advice to aspiring golfers is to remember that "golf is a game of managing mistakes. Keep your head up and don't let it get to you."

Ryan Coyle is heading to Centre College for football, having set a school record with 453 tackles and being named Defensive Player of the Year. Reflecting on his journey, Ryan shared, "Football has been where I've made some of my closest friends and learned valuable life lessons. I want to continue making these friendships and learning for as long as I can." He advises younger students to cherish every moment with teammates and friends.

Teagen Davis is joining Otterbein University for lacrosse. Recognized with numerous accolades, including First Team All MVC twice, Teagen's favorite memory is playing alongside his brother. He advises younger athletes to "keep working, take care of your body, keep practicing, and stay prepared."

Kenzie Zimmers will play soccer at Lincoln Memorial University. As team captain and a Division 5 First Team honoree, Kenzie has been a leader both on and off the field. She credits her coaches for inspiring her to achieve her goals. "My coaches have always inspired me to be my best both on and off the field, constantly pushing me to achieve my goals,” says Kenzie. “Hirsch [Head Coach Theresa Hirschauer], Brandt [Assistant Coach Brady Brandt], Brittany [Assistant Coach Brittany Wood], and Olivia [Assistant Coach Olivia Robinson] provided me with the best experience I could have asked for during my four years, and I can't thank them enough."

Supporters – including friends, family, coaches, and fellow students – gathered to celebrate these remarkable achievements. “Signing Day symbolizes the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance,” says Dennis Coyle, athletic director and head football coach. “Congratulations to Ethan, Teagen, Kenzie, and Ryan on this incredible accomplishment. We look forward to celebrating your continued success.”
