Recent Cincinnati Country Day School graduates Elizabeth and Megan Zimmerman `24 continue to add to their impressive collection of awards. United Soccer Coaches announced that Elizabeth has been named to the 2023-24 High School All-America Team. Additionally, Megan Zimmerman `24 as well as her sister Elizabeth were named to the All-Region (Midwest) Team for the 2023-24 school year for their outstanding academic and athletic performance.
According to the press release announcing Elizabeth's selection to the High School All-America Team, 88 student-athletes were honored for their combined achievements in the classroom and on the soccer field.
“The highest honor that a high school student-athlete can receive is to be named Scholar All-American or Scholar All-Midwest," says Theresa Hirschauer, head coach for Country Day’s girls varsity soccer team.
Under Hirschauer’s tenure as varsity head coach, only one other player, Lawson Renie `20, has received this award.
“Megan and Elizabeth were two of the finest student-athletes to come through Country Day in my career,” continued Hirschauer.
Among the Elizabeth’s and Megan’s many achievements while attending Cincinnati Country Day School, they were both 12-season athletes, won two state championships in girls soccer, were named Girls Athlete of the Year by the Cincinnati Enquirer for the 2023-2024 year, and received numerous individual accolades in basketball, soccer, and lacrosse.
Elizabeth and Megan will attend Washington and Lee University to play soccer.
