Terre Virzi ‘22 Named the Recipient of an Award for Character, Integrity, and Sportsmanship

Terre Virzi '22 was recently awarded the Miami Valley Conference (MVC) Dick Snyder Award for character, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Terre was a vital member of our cross country and track team during her tenure as a student.

"The cross country and track team at Country Day has an incredible atmosphere. Anyone who runs distance can testify to the constant exhaustion of it, but what kept me going was the people I got the opportunity to run with," said Virzi. "I always wanted everyone on the team to feel comfortable with each other and produce positive energy."

The Dick Snyder Sportsmanship Award is given to an athlete from each school in the conference that displayed integrity and good sportsmanship during the season. Each recipient was nominated by one or more of the MVC athletic directors. The award is named in honor of the retired athletic director from The Seven Hills School, who served Seven Hills and the MVC for 40 years.

"It feels great to receive this award, especially at the end of my CCDS career," said Virzi. "I hope and know that after I'm gone, the team will continue to grow closer and become stronger. Though I don't plan to compete next year at Columbia, I hope to continue running just for fun around the streets of New York City."
