The goal of the Cincinnati Country Day School College Counseling program is to help all students matriculate at colleges where they will prosper and from which they will emerge prepared to lead productive and satisfying lives.
Junior Student/Parent Information Morning in early September to prepare for interaction with college visitors to our campus.
College Athletic Recruiting and Financial Aid information night in September, open to all parents.
Juniors meet with college representatives who visit campus in the fall.
Juniors attend the Suburban College Fair (hosted by CCDS in September).
All juniors take the PSAT in October.
Individual meetings between juniors and their counselors begin in January, followed by family meetings with college counselor in January and February. Formulate college list and plan summer experiences.
Junior College Information night for Students and Parents in January.
Junior College Counseling Classes twice per cycle in March and April. Creation of Resume and Junior Reflection. Interview practice.
Juniors visit colleges during spring break and summer months, making sure to interview.
Take a first round of standardized testing (SAT I, SAT II and/or ACT) during junior year. Juniors may want to take their first ACT in September.
