American Chemical Society Scholars Program provides scholarships for qualified applicants who want to enter the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or other chemically related fields such as environmental science, materials science or toxicology. This program is designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic/Latino and Native-American students to pursue degrees in the chemical sciences and chemical technology. The American Legion Scholarship Fund There are several scholarships available through the American Legion. Eligibility ranges from direct descendants of Legionnaires; children or grandchildren of WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam Granada, Lebanon or Desert Storm veteran; wife, daughter, stepdaughter, granddaughter, son, grandson, stepson, adopted son/daughter of veteran (for nurses training). ASHRAE SCHOLARSHIP is sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is offering scholarships for Mechanical Engineering students for this school year. The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship offers scholarships in the amount of $2,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace. BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship is designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity in our community’s youth. BBB awards up to five $1,000 scholarships. Charles L. Warren Memorial Heritage Scholarship is awarded by the Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling each year to outstanding high school students. The Scholarship is a one-time $1,000. award. You must have financial need and a 3.00 or better and plan to attend an Ohio College or University. Cincinnati Elks MVS Scholarships are second only to the Federal Government in awarding college scholarships. The awards range from $50,000. To $4,000 over four years. You must be a college bound senior and related to an Elk member. The deadline is Nov. 27th. Visit www.enf.elks.org/mvs.
Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will award two scholarships to African American females in the greater Cincinnati area that are currently high school seniors and plan to attend a college/university upon graduation. Scholarship winners will be chosen based on academic excellence, community service involvement, financial need and a short interview for selected applicants. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Additional Scholarships are available to high school seniors form the Lincoln Heights Community. Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation administers approximately 80 different scholarship funds and makes awards to as many students as possible. Many of the scholarship funds are considered "last dollars" to cover unmet need after all other state, federal and campus scholarship aid has been awarded. High school seniors must submit a transcript, completed FAFSA, application, and award letter from the college you will be attending in the fall. The application is available on the website, www.cincinnatischolarshipfoundation.org in mid-January. It is due April 30.
Coca-Cola Foundation - The future of the Coca-Cola Foundation rests with the development of its scholars, who embody the kind of energy and vision that the history of the Coca-Cola Bottlers and The Coca-Cola Company manifests. Each year the Foundation awards $20,000 to 50 National Scholars and $4,000 to 200 Regional Scholars from across the country. National Scholars receive their awards over a period of four years. Coca-Cola Scholarships are awarded based on character, personal merit and commitment. "Dick" Meyers Memorial Scholarship Foundation is awarding http://oalprp.org/scholarships/ $1,000 to a student who will be enrolled in the fall at an Ohio college/university and is interested in majoring in natural resource conservation, environmental sciences and/or environmental education. Daughters of the American Revolution- American History Scholarship (open to all students) The American History Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school students who will have a concentrated study of a minimum of 24 credit hours in American History and American Government. This award is intended to promote the study of our history among our finest students. U.S. Citizens residing abroad may apply through a Units Overseas Chapter. American History Scholarship applications are first judged on the State level. Only State winners are eligible for judging on the Division level. Division level First and Second place winners are judged at the National level. ESA Foundation Scholarships the ESA Foundation awards numerous scholarships annually. Scholarship applications are submitted to the Foundation's state counselor of the applicant's state of residence or directly to the scholarship director if there is no state counselor for that state. When the application has been determined to meet the Foundation's criteria, it is forwarded to a member of the regional scholarship committee who double checks to see that the applicant meets the necessary criteria. The application is then sent to the scholarship coordinator responsible for the judging of the particular scholarship for which the student is applying. Hoxworth Blood Center Scholarship - Scholarships are awarded to approximately 6 graduating seniors in the spring. National High School Oratorical Contest and Other Scholarships - The main purpose of the National High School Oratorical Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. You are eligible to participate if you are a citizen or a lawful resident of the United Stated, under the age of 20 and enrolled in high school. Northrop Grumman Corporation provides an engineering scholarship program. Two qualified students chosen from area high schools will receive individual scholarships of $10,000. over the course of four years.
