International Diversity

Cincinnati Country Day School has a growing number of international families. These families represent nearly 15% of our community. Many of our students have lived abroad at one point in their lives, have recently moved to the United States from a foreign country, or are part of an exchange/visitors program. Many international families find the CCDS environment to be a very welcoming and familiar community. The many benefits of a CCDS education for international students include:

• A philosophy that encourages students to learn “how” to think.
• Small class sizes.
• World language electives beginning at age 5.
• In-school meeting space for private language support.
• One, all-inclusive 62-acre campus for all grades (18 months - grade 12) and all programs.
• An Advanced Placement (AP) program, ( similar in scope and mission to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program) in grades 9-12.
• A learning support team, which consists of instructional specialists, a speech/language pathologist, and two school psychologists.
• A technology program, which provides students with one-to-one access to personal computers on a wireless campus; all students in grades 5-12 are equipped with a tablet PC.
• A no-cut, athletic program for grades 7-12; a youth sports program for students ages 5 through grade 6.
• Fine and performing arts programming.
• Over 60 student clubs and organizations.
• An active Parents’ Association, which organizes a “buddy parent” for each new family.
• A diverse community which is well-equipped at helping families adjust to their relocation.

In recent years, new families to CCDS have come from Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Pakistan, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, and many more. The international diversity at CCDS contributes to a varied and enriched student experience both in and out of the classroom.
