AP Studio Art

AP students in Studio Art began the year by choosing a topic of interest to delve into for a Sustained Investigation. Students then wrote inquiry questions to guide their exploration, as they approached their chosen topic in a variety of different ways. Assignments ranged from observational drawing or painting in a monochrome palette, to working digitally with drawings split into various layers and rearranged abstractly. In the spring semester students were given free reign to create new pieces and revise their existing portfolios, while crafting a body of work that demonstrated a Sustained Investigation guided by their inquiry question. In May, students submitted their AP Portfolios to the College Board. In addition, we had two Independent Study students this year who worked diligently to create and submit AP Portfolios.
