Art 2

Art 2 students began the semester by deepening their understanding of linear perspective, with drawings of Lego blocks, followed by drawings of their own home in two-point perspective. Next, students expanded their understanding of color theory, while also unleashing their creativity, by working on Color Wheel Radial Designs. In the second half of the semester, students embarked on a study of the human head, drawing it in various perspectives, and creating close-up drawings of each feature. At the end of the unit, students used these studies as components for their Fractured Face Collages. They used the digital art program Paint.Net to digitally collage photos of their drawings onto photos they took of themselves, friends, or family members. They had the choice to “paint” these digitally, or print them and use traditional drawing and painting media to finish the piece creatively.
