Fourth graders portray famous Ohio inventors in Invention Convention '21

Fourth graders participated in the CCDS Invention Convention 2021 by choosing an Ohio inventor, researching the individual and the invention the person was responsible for creating, and presenting the findings.

Not only did the students get to learn about and practice the skill of research, but they also created an "inventor board" as a prop to explain each invention and they dressed in period costumes to depict the inventors.

With their project complete, the final piece of the lesson included an oral presentation to classmates and teachers. Inventors ranged from Thomas Edison to Dr. Henry Heimlich and Harvey Firestone to Charles Cretors, who invented the popcorn popper, and Vincent Marotta, co-creator of the Mr. Coffee machine.
