The Cross Country Team is Off and Running

Cincinnati Country Day School’s cross country team is off to a strong start this 2021-22 season! The program is comprised of a solid young core with many new students and underclassmen.

Coach Tracey-Miller and Coach Corrigan have implemented an effective new skills training regimen this year. The team is outside every day of the week, rain or shine. Although the track was under construction because of the stadium renovation project for the first portion of the season, the team has been resourceful in creating loops on the front fields of our campus. It’s one of the many incredible and resourceful perks of our 62-acre campus!

Now that the stadium renovation project is complete, the new track and field have been an excellent resource for training!

For four years now, the boys' team has been regionally qualified. Joe Gibson '23 is our top runner on the boys' team. For our girls' team, captains are seniors Terra Virzi and Reagan McMullen. For our boys' team, captains are juniors, Will Donovan and Joe Gibson.

Coach Tracey-Miller is a Country Day alum and ran cross country as a student. Coach Tracey-Miller says that his experience in Upper school has led him to be a life-long runner. He wants to continue to instill a love of running in the athletes. Coach Corrigan says her favorite thing about coaching cross country is getting to know her students on a coach-athlete level. She says she “sees an entirely new side of my students in sports versus in school. I love coaching cross country and getting to know my students differently!”
