Five Cincinnati Country Day alumni have been inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame. Ashley Baker '02, Joe Kinney '75, Lynne Schneebeck '84, Jason Smith '92 and Missy Vierling '03 were recognized Feb. 1 during the Hall of Fame dinner at CCDS.
Baker excelled in tennis, basketball and softball. She received All League, All City and All District honors for all three sports and won the school's Heinichen Award for top female athlete. Baker also received All State honors for tennis and softball.
Kinney was a standout in football, baseball and track. He received the school's McDaniel Award for top male athlete. Kinney was one of the top rushers in Cincinnati. He received All City honors in football and was a state qualifier in track.
Schneebeck was honored for her years as girls' tennis coach from 1998-2016. During that time, she coached the doubles state runner-up team and numerous state qualifiers. She has won multiple Greater Cincinnati coaches' tennis awards. Sportsmanship and teamwork were the foundation of her program.
Smith dominated in basketball and track, winning All League honors for all four years. He received All City and All District honors for basketball. Smith also was awarded All State honors and led the basketball team to the State Final Four.
Vierling shined in soccer and basketball. She was All League honors all four years for soccer, All City and All District honors in soccer, All State honors and All-American honors in soccer.
