Cincinnati Country Day School has named Brian Schubert as the new head coach of the boys varsity tennis team.
Since 2010, Schubert has served as the Director of Junior Tennis at Five Seasons. During those years, he was the USPTA Junior Coach of the Year in 2016, named the Ohio Pro of the Year by the USPTA in 2014, and received Rookie of the Year honors in 2009. During his collegiate career, Schubert played at Xavier University where he captained their first ever NCAA tournament team. Coach Schubert has played a key role in growing the EX Academy Junior Program over the last couple of years.
Schubert has served as a Country Day assistant coach since 2012. During his tenure, the boys captured two team state championship titles and made five trips to the state final four. In the OHSAA State tournaments, CCDS has captured four D2 doubles state titles and three D2 singles championships.
Assisting Coach Schubert is Rachel Corwin who has organized and coached the boys team since 2014. Rachel has been instrumental in the state tennis teams of the past five years. Corwin is looks forward to her involvement with the varsity tennis program as she continues to work with the middle school tennis players in the fall and spring.
