Country Day welcomes the following teachers for the 2020-21 school year.
Allan J. Pestotnik (Fourth Grade): Allan comes to CCDS from Bay Ridge Preparatory School in Brooklyn, New York, where he was a Middle School social studies teacher. He is a graduate of the Teachers College at Columbia University in New York City, where he received his Master of Arts in Social Studies Education (grades 7-12).
Tiffanie Clark (MS Spanish): Tiffanie recently completed her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. She also has an M.A. and B.A. from Miami University. She taught Latin American Literature in Translation at Ashland University this year and taught several Spanish classes at The University of Cincinnati from 2017-2019. This included Introductory Spanish (both remote and in-person), Intermediate and Advanced Spanish. Dr. Clark has been teaching Spanish since 2009, mainly at the college level.
Sujin Kim (Music MS): Sujin comes from Northern Kentucky University where she acted as a staff accompanist and performed solo and chamber recitals in the Cincinnati area while also finishing her DMA. She holds a master's degree in piano performance from College Conservatory of Music (CCM), University of Cincinnati and completed a bachelor's degree at Kyungwon University in South Korea with a summa cum laude. Sujin has presented Beethoven Choral Fantasy and Mozart K. 488 with CCM Chamber Orchestra and Cincinnati Collegium Musicians.
MIDDLE SCHOOL/UPPER SCHOOL
Christine Bridge (English): Christine will teach two sections of sixth-grade English and will serve as a sixth-grade advisor. She will also teach two sections of Upper School English. She has more than 20 years of educational experience as a classroom English teacher and curriculum developer. Most recently, she was an adjunct instructor at the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash. She has a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education and a M.A. in English Education from the University of British Columbia. She also has a B.Ed. in Secondary English and Social Studies, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Victoria.
Julie Crutcher (Learning Specialist): Julie Crutcher comes to Country Day as our Upper School Learning Specialist with over 30 years of experience as an educator. Julie spent the bulk of her career working as a classroom teacher in a local public district. She taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades as well as Special Education. More recently she has worked in both private and public schools and for Hamilton County as an Intervention Specialist. Julie holds a B.S. and M.A. from Xavier University and will be on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays supporting our students.
Laura A. Gunn (Math): Laura comes to CCDS from Colerain High School, where she taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II (General, Advanced and Honors), Pre-Calculus and High Impact Math. She also taught math at Pleasant Run Middle School and Milford High School. Laura holds a Master of Education from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University in Oxford.
Jill Jaksetic (Science): Jill has taught at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida since 2014. Her courses included AP Biology, Honors Biology, Biology, Environmental Science and Marine Science. She has a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Patricia (Patti) Raymond (Math): Most recently, Patti has taught math at Princeton Day School in Princeton, New Jersey. She also was the mathematics chairperson and teacher at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in Pennsauken, New Jersey. She's enrolled in a Master of Mathematics program at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, and she received a B.A. in Mathematics from Rutgers University College of Arts and Science in Camden, New Jersey.
Nicholas Rose (Theater US): Nick is joining the US Faculty as our Interim Theater Director. Nick has had an illustrious career for more than 20 years as an actor, director, and educator at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. Nick's acting credits also include work with the Fahrenheit Theatre Company and Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, and the New Stage Collective among others. Nick has been teaching at Xavier University in their theater department, where the head of that department described him as an "outstanding educator and mentor to students." Nick holds a B.A. in Communications from James Madison University and is completing his MEd in Secondary Education at Xavier.
Marion Wallace (School Nurse): Marion is joining our nursing team to help the school maintain a healthy learning environment, assist with care for our students and staff, and support our existing and new policies that limit the spread of illness. Marion is an experienced registered nurse who provided patient care for children at the Shriners Hospitals in Cincinnati and served as labor and delivery nurse at Christ Hospital. Marion has an associate degree in nursing and is currently earning a bachelor of science in nursing at the Christ Hospital College of Nursing.
