Moya Ly '18 receives national NCWIT Award

Moya Ly '18 of Montgomery is one of 40 high school students nationwide selected as a winner in the 2018 Aspirations in Computing competition. She was chosen from more than 3,600 contestants. The competition is sponsored by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT).

Moya will receive an all-expense paid trip with a parent to the ceremony during the national award event March 9-11 at The Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The NCWIT Award for AiC honors women in grades 9 through 12 who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award for AiC recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post‑secondary education.

Since 2010, 334 women have been honored with the award, which is sponsored by Apple, Bank of America, Microsoft, Motorola Solutions Foundation, and Symantec. The award provides opportunities for college scholarships and internships.
