Description: Creative Movement explores various dance styles such as ballet, hip hop, and jazz in a fun, exploratory environment. Children will continue to use "make believe" and fun props in dancing to their favorite songs, all while teaching basic elements of dance, including rhythm, movement quality, space, body awareness, and shape. The child's imagination and self-esteem are encouraged and strengthened through dance.

DESCRIPTION: Fitness Club is designed to allow each student to reach their optimum fitness level while encouraging fitness for life in a safe and fun way. Students will work on cardiovascular endurance, balance and coordination skills, core strengthening, and stretching. And, since Fridays are spirit dress days at CCDS, students will already have on comfortable athletic wear for Fitness Club. No changing of clothing will be necessary, leaving more time for fitness fun! Students should bring a water bottle.

DESCRIPTION: Guitar Club is designed to allow beginner students to learn, play and experiment with music in a group setting. Reading chords, strumming, basic picking, and singing will be explored. An acoustic guitar is required.

DESCRIPTION: Mud Pies is a great way to help young children develop and strengthen fine motor skills, learn to problem-solve, and use their imagination. Our youngest clay makers will use coiling, slab, and pinching techniques as they play and create with clay.

Outdoor Survival Club creates opportunities for children to learn cooperation, meet physical challenges, navigate risk, practice perseverance, and gain self-confidence. This is the perfect antidote for the hurried, overstructured lifestyles, digital distractions, and manufactured environments that leave children few opportunities to explore and be creative. The design engineering adventures will include fort building, sticky situations, whittling, fire starting, mud play, cooking basics, and any other investigations stimulated by the students.

DESCRIPTION: Be part of the S.T.E.A.M. Team as you explore fun and exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities. Students will develop creative, "out-of-the-box" skills by using the engineering design process, coding vocabulary, and techniques to solve real-world problems.
