Welcome to School's Out  Activities and Recreation Program!

Country Day is excited to partner with Adrenaline Sports and Fitness, iSPACE, and The Roaming Naturalist to offer a variety of engaging opportunities for students (enrolled in Pre-K through grade 6) on weekdays when students are out of school.

Program details:

  • Programs run from 8 am - 3:30 pm
  • Snacks and materials are provided
  • Students should bring a nutritious and nut-free lunch
  • Class sizes are limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Each program has a minimum registration requirement or it may not be offered.

Covid protocols will remain in place including cohorting, masking indoors, and physical distancing.

November 5

Let it Fall Art and Nature
Pre-KI, Pre-KII, Montessori and Kindergarten
Minimum 10/Maximum 20

Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall!  Students will enjoy creating and playing with nature’s 'falling' gifts. Through purposeful exploration, nature hikes, storytelling, art projects and creative play, students will have a fun day experiencing all the wonder that the Autumn season brings.

iSPACE: Trains, Planes and Automobiles
Kindergarten - Grade 2
Minimum 15/Maximum 20

All aboard! Students will transform into engineers as they explore the world of transportation. Young engineers will investigate, build, and examine a variety of vehicles as they learn about speed, motion, robotics, and math. They will build and program an airplane using LEGO Education WeDo robotics kits, experiment with Hot Wheels, construct LEGO model trains to build bar graphs, make helicopters, and more. Ready, Set, Go sign-up for this fun transportation STEM Day! (Students will not be taking home the LEGO or the Hot Wheels used in this program.) 

iSPACE:  Mealworm Investigations 
Grades 3 - 5
Minimum 15/Maximum 20

Students will investigate the characteristics of mealworms by observing them scientifically, testing their capabilities and creating a habitat for them. Data will be recorded and compared. Students will gain programming skills using Sphero technology. Students will have the option of taking their mealworms and their creations home with them (Students will not be taking home the Spheros used in this program).
