CCDXperiences develop in students the skills, knowledge and empathy required to engage successfully in a rapidly changing world.
Through short-term job shadows or longer-term volunteer research positions, students see firsthand what it is like to work in a field that interests them. Students garner advice about college and careers from parent and alumni hosts and learn early the value of networking, of cultural awareness and of inter-disciplinary thinking.
Note: We are always eager to grow our program. Parents, alumni and friends of the school who would like to host a Country Day student for a job shadow or an internship in 2020, please complete a quick survey below the list of current opportunities.

Shadow adult and child psychiatrists in clinical and research settings. You will have the opportunity to observe psychiatrists and psychologists interact with patients in outpatient clinics and inpatient psychiatric units. Learn about how MRI technology and data analytic techniques are used to examine neurobiological predictors of treatment response and observe assessments of patients with mood and anxiety disorders who are participating in clinical research studies. Shadow young alumnus in family restaurant group, a business large enough to need a support team but still small enough that owners must have skills such as marketing, financials, operations to succeed. Chemical Engineering Immersion (closed)
Spend a week learning to think, explore processes, and problem-solve like an engineer. Tour local chemical plants, meet with engineers at different stages of their careers, work as a team to tackle your own chemical engineering project, and gather insight into the industry from a retired chemical engineer. Open only to juniors and seniors who have taken chemistry. Past participants have garnered internships or jobs with knowledge gained from this experience.
Managing Money 101 (closed)
Learn about managing your personal finances and other people’s money. Read the book Millionaire Teacher: Nine Rules of Wealth You Should Have Learned in High School to
uncover how early planning and basic math can lead to successful wealth management.
Gain an introduction to the art of managing others’ money from Bahl and Gaynor. Tour the mock trading floor at UC’s Johnson Investment Lab and get an introduction to private equity investing from the Chief Investment Officer of the University of Cincinnati.
Sports Medicine (closed)
What do trainers, physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons do? Participants will observe Bengals team doctor Marc Galloway perform orthopedic surgery. The group will visit a Mercy Health rehabilitation facility and learn from physical therapists about their daily work. They will spend a day with CCDS trainer Adam Lindley and learn how their own daily habits affect their performance as an athlete, how to prevent and recover from injury, and what the life of a trainer is like. Students will also become certified in CPR.
