After-Care Camp Programs

Creative Playtime After-Care Camp

Description: This after-care camp is designed to extend the learning for our children who attend the day camps. This camp allows children unstructured playtime, which is critical to developing brains and bodies. 

Baseball Camp
Grades: 1 - 8

Description: During the week, campers will be put through a variety of skill-building drills that help develop hitting, fielding, pitching, and baserunning. 

Basketball Camp
Grades: 1 - 8

Description: This skills camp teaches players the fundamentals of basketball. Fun drills and games will boost players’ passing, dribbling, and shooting skills.

Etiquette Rules

Fee: $100
Description: Everyday life skills are essential for gaining independence, boosting confidence, and being a good member of society.  Students will learn etiquette, table manners, communication, and everyday practical life skills that will build a solid foundation for life. Hands-on activities will include food preparation skills (cutting, peeling), table setting, letter writing (invitations, thank you notes), tidiness, helping others, and health. 

Fitness, Games, and Fun After-Care Camp

Dates: 6/12/2023 – 7/31/2023
Time: 3:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Fee: $90 per week ($72.00 week of 7/3)
Description: This after-care camp will promote physical activity while providing social and recreational activities. Campers will participate in a variety of fitness activities, games, and other recreational activities. This camp offers an enjoyable environment for campers to make friends, try new things, and relax after a long day.

Gymnastics Camp

Description: Participants will learn basic to intermediate gymnastics skills and skill connections on the floor, beam, bars, and vault. This course works on flexibility and the building blocks for young gymnasts.

Soccer Camp

Tennis Camp
Grades: 1 – 8
Dates: 7/24/2023 – 7/28/2023
Time: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Instructor: Nikhil Shah `25 and pro tennis coaches
Fee: $100
Description: Participants will learn beginner and intermediate tennis skills on the court. This course is an excellent opportunity to expose campers to the game, new skills, and teamwork. The proceeds of this camp will go toward the Cincinnati Tennis Foundation (CTF). CTF is a nonprofit organization that teaches tennis to underprivileged children and supports blind, wheelchair, and adaptive tennis.

Volleyball Camp

Pre-Camp Programs

Archery Camp
Grades: 
4 – 8
Dates: 6/5/2023 – 6/9/2023
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Instructors:  Lisa Tyler and Theresa Hirschauer, middle school head
Fee: $150
Description:  This camp is designed to build basic knowledge and skills for the beginner archer. Campers will learn the 11 steps to archery success and safety rules for the sport. Additionally, campers will learn how to make a string bow and determine eye dominance when shooting at the targets.  Throughout the week, campers will strengthen their fundamentals of archery and end their week with an Olympic-style tournament.  An excellent sport for mental and physical exercise!  

CCDSports Camp
Grades: 2 – 8

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Instructors: Dennis Coyle, CCDS athletic director, and coaches
Fee: $350
Description:  The goal of CCDSports Camp is to teach fundamental skills that span multiple sports and boost overall athleticism. A typical day consists of various games and skill-building activities, including but not limited to dodgeball, basketball, flag football, soccer, and whiffle ball. Participants will explore and discover skills needed for a variety of sports, leaving camp with a better concept of team and the fundamentals associated with each sport.

Cooking and Food Exploration Club
Ages: Age 4 – Grade 1
Dates: 6/5/2023 – 6/9/2023
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Instructor: New Leaf Kitchen
Fee: $425
Description:  For kids who want to learn more about healthy cooking, this camp will teach campers how to harvest and prepare meals for an authentic farm-to-table experience. Through hands-on lessons incorporating all five senses, campers will learn lifelong skills—gardening, following a recipe, and using measuring tools—through cooking activities. They will also enjoy making healthy snacks using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.  Your child will enjoy this tasty way to learn and develop an interest in eating healthier.

Instructor: The Roaming Naturalist
Fee: $350
Description: Adventure into the great outdoors with an experienced naturalist and outfitter guide from The Roaming Naturalist! Campers will learn outdoor survival skills, including building a shelter and starting a fire, identifying plants and animals, reading a compass, and tying knots. Through hands-on activities, games, and team-building exercises, campers will gain confidence, make new friends, and deepen their understanding of the connection between humans and nature.

Cooking and Food Exploration Club

Creative Playtime

Prerequisite: Must be enrolled at Country Day for the 2023-24 academic year.
Description:  Creative Playtime is a post-camp offering for ages 3 through entering Kindergarten and is designed to extend summer learning for children of working families. This camp allows children more unstructured playtime, which is critical to developing brains and bodies. Facilitated exploration and activities will be open-ended and child-initiated, allowing campers to explore their interests while boosting their creativity skills. Time will be spent at our Outdoor Education Center (7125 House) and our 60-acre campus.  Lunch service is not offered.
