CCDScholar Academic Support and Summer PE for Credit 

Cincinnati Country Day School offers academic support, and Summer PE for high school credit. Due to instructor availability this summer, we are unable to offer private music instruction in piano, violin, or voice. We appreciate your understanding.

Literacy Boost Camp 
Grades: 1 - 2
Dates:  June 15 - July 1, Monday - Wednesday 
Times:  2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Description: 
Experience the transformative power of literacy at our Literacy Boost Camp. Designed as a 9-session program, this camp goes beyond closing skill gaps by providing an enriching, supportive, and positive learning environment. Our goal is to empower students by building confidence and nurturing capable, enthusiastic readers.

Led by an experienced Orton-Gillingham certified instructor, the program delivers targeted instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. Through small-group, structured literacy sessions, students receive focused instruction in phonics, decoding, spelling, and vocabulary development. 
Session dates: 6/15, 6/16, 6/17, 6/22, 6/23, 6/24, 6/29, 6/30, 7/1

Number Sense Math Camp 
Grades: 2 - 3
Dates:  June 15 - July 2, Monday - Thursday
Times: 7:45 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
Fee: $350
Description:
Designed as a 12-session program, this camp is for students who would benefit from strengthening number sense and building a confident, positive mindset toward mathematics. Campers will explore math conceptually as they develop flexibility in problem-solving, engage in creative and visual thinking, and share strategies with peers. A key focus is groupitizing, a research-supported approach that helps students see numbers in meaningful groups and lays the foundation for higher-level math understanding. Each session includes engaging counting routines, number talks, “ish” numbers, and plenty of math games. Above all, this camp emphasizes fun, confidence, and success, helping students feel capable and excited about math learning.

Summer Physical Education
Grades: 9 – 12
Dates: June 8 - June 18 
Times:  8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Fee:  $475
Description: 
This course for credit focuses on maintaining a health-enhancing level of physical fitness and the importance of physical activity through various stages of life, whether for health, enjoyment, or competition. Participants will develop and demonstrate skills through varied physical activities that meet the Ohio Department of Education Physical Education Standards. Lunch is provided.
Course Credit:  PE participants will earn .25 credit. Students who fail to meet the course requirements will not earn credit.
Course Structure: The course runs for two weeks, meeting for 7 hours daily. The curriculum covers basketball, flag football, leisure activities, racquet sports, soccer, softball, volleyball, swimming, and exercise.
Course Requirements: For the student to receive credit for this course, the following requirements must be met:

  • participate in the classes for a minimum of 60 hours
  • receive a passing grade
  • obtain prior approval for missed classes (only one class will be approved, and the student will be required to make up missed hours)


Summer Work Learning Lab
Grades: 3 - 5
Dates: July 14 - July 30, Tuesdays and Thursdays
Times: 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Fee: $210
Description:
This 6-session program is designed for enrolled students entering the upcoming school year and provides guidance and support as they complete their required summer assignments. In a relaxed yet focused environment, students will work through their summer packets with the support of experienced CCDS teacher Ann Gardner. It’s an ideal opportunity to make meaningful progress on required work while reconnecting with peers.
