Enrichment Clubs

We are excited to offer a variety of enrichment clubs. First semester clubs run September to December and second semester clubs run January to May, with the exception of gymnastics. 

Club enrollment is based on a first come, first served basis.  Registrations received after the capacity is reached, will be refunded their fee and notified by email.

DESCRIPTION: Adventure into the great outdoors!  Students will learn outdoor survival skills, including shelter and fire building, plant and animal identification, compass skills, and knot tying. Through hands-on activities, games, and team-building exercises, students will gain confidence  and deepen their understanding of the connection between humans and nature.

Description: Creative Movement explores various dance styles such as ballet, hip hop, and jazz in a fun, exploratory environment. Children will continue to use "make believe" and fun props in dancing to their favorite songs, all while teaching basic elements of dance, including rhythm, movement quality, space, body awareness, and shape. The child's imagination and self-esteem are encouraged and strengthened through dance.

DESCRIPTION: Fitness Club helps students to optimize their fitness while having fun with friends.  Together, students work to develop endurance, balance, coordination, core strength, and flexibility through a focus on running. And, since Fridays are spirit dress days at CCDS, students will be dressed in athletic wear for Fitness Club. No clothing change is necessary, leaving more time for fitness fun!  Students should bring a water bottle.

DESCRIPTION: NI HAO Chinese introduces students to the culture and language of the many mandarin speaking areas of the world. Lessons will be centered around real-life scenarios with a focus on hands-on learning activities, such as singing, dancing, crafts, and games. Through these activities, students will passively learn basic Mandarin language skills such as greetings, family members, colors, numbers, and much more...all without hardly being aware they are learning a language. NI HAO Chinese club members will be able to bring their projects home at the end of class and demonstrate what they have learned and experienced.
