The Stadium Renovation Project
Raising our game at Country Day!
Dear Country Day Families and Alumni,
Cincinnati Country Day School has a proud athletic history with a tradition of excellence focused on achievement and sportsmanship. It is now time to launch a new chapter in our school’s history book! We are thrilled to announce plans to undertake a stadium renovation project, substantially funded by generous gifts from five Country Day families.
This capital project has been many years in the making and we have prolonged the life of the stadium for as long as possible. After hundreds – if not thousands – of hard-fought games and competitive track events, these facilities are now past their useful life and in need of replacement. This need was highlighted in community feedback gathered by local architects, MSA Design, as part of their work to develop a campus master plan in 2018-19. We are incredibly grateful to our lead donors for their commitment to progress the project in an otherwise challenging year.
The priorities of the project are investing in modern, purpose-built facilities, widening the field's footprint to accommodate a greater range of field sports, providing synthetic turf that offers a quality surface for competitive sports, significantly improving campus aesthetics, and delivering an improved experience for students and their families. In summary, we are “raising our game” at Country Day!
The project, due for completion in August 2021, includes:
- Multi-sport synthetic turf field, accommodating football, boys and girls soccer, and boys and girls lacrosse.
- Six-lane track.
- Home stand for more than 530 spectators, with an integrated press box.
- Visitor bleachers for 130 spectators.
- Modern LED lighting and sound system.
- Digital display scoreboard.
- Remodeled athletic entryway, incorporating seating and an outdoor learning space.
- Remodeled lower school play area, including resurfaced playground and native planting.
Landscaping work to replace dying trees and invasive plant species, with native trees, shrubs, forbs, and grasses.
While this $3.75-million project has been made possible by the commitment of five lead donors, they have inspired the generosity of others. For questions about the project or information about how you can make a gift to help bring this project across the finish line, please contact Louise Vaughan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 513-979-0284.
Let’s all look forward to the day when we can cheer on our Nighthawks and enjoy this new space together!
